Fusion Resin makes two resins, each designed for a different job, in sizes for first-timers, regular artists and businesses. This guide helps you pick the right kit in under a minute.

Step 1: Pick your resin type

Vitro 2:1: clear coating resin

Thin, self-levelling and glass-clear. Use it for coasters, keychains, trays, nameplates, wall clocks, frames, MDF art, jewellery and top coats.

  • Mix ratio: 2:1 by weight
  • Pour depth: 3–4 mm per coat
  • Pot life: about 30–35 minutes
  • Cure time: about 18–20 hours

Flex 3:1: deep pour casting resin

Low heat, so it pours thick and stays clear. Use it for flower and varmala preservation, deep blocks, paperweights and large moulds.

  • Mix ratio: 3:1 by weight
  • Pour depth: up to 2 inches per layer
  • Pot life: about 40–45 minutes
  • Cure time: about 24 hours

💡 Pro tip: Bigger sizes cost less per gram. Once you're making pieces every week, moving up a size lowers your cost on every order. See How to Price Resin Art Products.

Step 3: Check how much you need

Use the free resin calculator or the chart in How Much Resin Do I Need?. Quick examples:

  • A set of 4 coasters: about 115 g (Vitro)
  • A 30 × 20 cm tray: about 220 g (Vitro)
  • A 30 cm wall clock: about 255 g (Vitro)
  • An 8 × 8 × 5 cm flower block: about 385 g (Flex)
  • A 15 × 15 × 4 cm varmala block: about 1.1 kg (Flex)
